Gunners beat Spurs 3-1 as Chelsea claim late win while Liverpool are held in a six-goal thriller
Arsenal produced an impressive result against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby, winning 3-1 at Emirates Stadium to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

A stunning long-range effort from Thomas Partey gave the hosts a deserved lead.
Harry Kane levelled from the penalty spot with a record 44th London derby goal and a 100th strike away from home in the Premier League – also a Premier League first.
However, goals from Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka, either side of a red card for Emerson Royal earned Arsenal the three points, to stretch their lead at the summit to four points.
Debut joy for De Zerbi
In his first match since being appointed as Brighton & Hove Albion head coach, Roberto De Zerbi claimed an excellent result against Liverpool.

A Leandro Trossard hat-trick helped the visitors to a 3-3 draw, a thriller in which Liverpool had edged ahead after coming back from two down.
Trossard joined an exclusive list of visiting players to have taken the match ball from Anfield, along with Andrey Arshavin and Peter Ndlovu, as Brighton held on to fourth place with 14 points, four points ahead of ninth-placed Liverpool.
Late win for Potter’s Chelsea
Another head coach taking his Premier League bow with his new club, Graham Potter, also enjoyed a promising start.

Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, his first for the club, and former Crystal Palace loanee Conor Gallagher gave Chelsea a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Selhurst Park, to lift them to within a point of Brighton, in fifth place. Palace slip to 17th, on six points.
Newcastle hit four
Newcastle United’s wait for a second victory of the season came to an end in emphatic fashion at Fulham, as a brace from Miguel Almiron helped the Magpies to a 4-1 win.
The match turned after a red card was shown to Nathaniel Chalobah with the match still goalless following a VAR review.

Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff were also on target as Newcastle climbed to seventh place, above Fulham on goal difference.
Quickfire double for Everton
Everton are a point back in 11th place as two goals in three second-half minutes earned them a 2-1 victory over Southampton.

Joe Aribo had given the hosts a 49th-minute lead, but first goals for the Blues from Conor Coady and Dwight McNeil gave Frank Lampard’s side a second successive victory, leaving Saints in 16th place on seven points.
Elsewhere, there were no goals between AFC Bournemouth and Brentford, but it was another match unbeaten for Gary O’Neil who has overseen four unbeaten fixtures for the 12th-placed Cherries, the first time they have done so since October 2018. Brentford slip to 10th place.
Scamacca off the mark
In Saturday’s final match of the day, West Ham United climbed to 15th place thanks a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
