The Bengal Safari Park in Salugara, Siliguri is aiming to set a record of revenue earned. From April to November this year, it has already netted INR 5 Cr. Member Secretary of the State Zoo Authority Board, Saurabh Chowdhury said that the Park is aiming to reach INR 7 Cr by April 2024. In the last financial year, it had earned INR 5 Cr 67 lakhs.
He said, “There are still three months left in this financial year. The park authorities are hopeful that the
previous record will be broken, and a new record will be made in its place.”
Mr. Chowdhury informed that there are several new additions in the pipeline to draw more visitors to
the Bengal Safari Park. A pair of lions are set to be the newest addition to the park in the new year. A
A new leopard, Krishna, has arrived in the park. The Bengal Safari Park has a variety of animals as well as a
huge range of trees. This unique mix of flora and fauna makes it a chosen spot for various educational
institutions.
On Sunday, December 17, the Minister of State for Forests and Consumer Affairs, Birbaha Hansda visited
the entire park. She inaugurated e-cycling facilities there. The minister said, “The park is developing with
every passing day, and the number of visitors is increasing. It is a heartening sign to see it growing in
revenue, an indication of the number of visitors.”
The Bengal Safari Park has a variety of animals in separate enclosures that include Royal Bengal Tiger,
Asian Black Bear, sambar and deer, crocodiles, small cats and civets, and a variety of birds.
