Actor says extreme transformations are role-specific and not meant as a lifestyle
Actor Udaybir Sandhu, known for the viral dialogue “ghar ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe Jassi?”, recently opened up about the intense physical transformation he underwent for his role in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which stars Ranveer Singh. Sandhu revealed that he both gained and lost 15 kilograms to convincingly portray Gurbaaz Singh, also known as Pinda, at different stages of life in the film.
Sharing his experience on Instagram, the actor said he played both a 20-year-old and a 40-year-old character, requiring drastic changes in his physique. “I pushed my limits in ways I didn’t know I could. A lot of discipline, blood, sweat, and tears have gone into bringing this character to life,” he wrote, expressing pride in his journey and dedication to the role.
At the same time, Sandhu emphasized that such extreme body transformations are strictly role-specific and should not be seen as a sustainable or healthy lifestyle choice for the general public. His transformation highlights the demanding nature of acting, where physical and mental commitment often go hand in hand to deliver authentic performances on screen.
He concluded by expressing hope that audiences will connect with his character Pinda when the film releases in theatres.
