Rajib, Suvendu for `poriborton’ (change) in Bengal

by Kolkata Today

Newcomer to BJP Rajib Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikary today called for a `poriborton’ or change in Bengal to remove the ills of Mamata Banerjee rule in the state.

TMC ministers Rajib and Suvendu joined the BJP within a gap of one month. TMC founder member Bani Singha Roy today joined the BJP.

Speaking at a ‘jogdan or joining mela’ organised by BJP at Dumurjola in Howrah Rajib and Suvendu felt TMC is no longer a party for people with self -respect.

According to Rajib TMC’s end journey has begun and a `poriborton’ is awaited. Suvendu’s target is to wipe out TMC from its bastions Kolkata and South 24 parganas.

`Poriborton’ was Mamata’s slogan when she upstaged the 34-year CPM led Left Front rule in Bengal in 2011.

Speaking on the virtual Mr Shah reiterated Mamata’s aim to install her nephew Avisekh Banerjee as the state chief minister.

Present at the Dumurjola meeting Textile Minister Smriti Irani accused Mamata of abetting corruption.

Rajib stashed Mamata’s `Swasthya Sathi and `Duare Sarkar programmes as `hoax’ to cheat people before the elections. TMC has dubbed Rajib and Suvendu as ‘traitor and opportunist’.

Until now Rajib is BJP’s only `untainted’ big catch. It has placed TMC on the back foot. Although BJP has announced fighting ‘faceless’ in the upcoming elections, insiders said that the party is still on look out for a clean face as chief minister project.
