Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee launched a sharp attack on the central leadership during a poll rally in Malda, raising concerns over national security and alleged inaction by the Union government.
The self-proclaimed “56-inch” Prime Minister and his Home Minister are so busy with vote prachar that they have no time to respond to direct threats of external aggression against Bengal.

Referring to remarks by Khawaja Asif, Banerjee claimed that threats directed at Kolkata had not been adequately addressed by the Centre.
He questioned the response of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging a lack of urgency in condemning such statements.
In his address, Banerjee accused the central leadership of being preoccupied with election campaigning instead of prioritising national security and the safety of citizens in West Bengal. He further questioned whether decisive steps would be taken to respond to external threats and safeguard India’s sovereignty.
The TMC leader also raised the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, calling for stronger action and urging the Centre to empower security forces to protect national interests.
The remarks come amid heightened political rhetoric during the ongoing election campaign in West
Bengal, where national security and governance have become key points of debate between the ruling party at the Centre and opposition leaders in the state.
