Abhishek Alleges ‘State-Sponsored Attack’ on Mamata

TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that the reported attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s convoy was a “state-sponsored attack,” escalating the political confrontation in the state.

Speaking about the incident, Banerjee said Mamata Banerjee is not only the chairperson of the Trinamool Congress but has also served as Chief Minister and held several portfolios during her long political career.

Banerjee alleged that the people involved in the incident had been seen with BJP leaders on multiple occasions. He further accused the BJP of seeking to eliminate political opposition and alleged that opposition leaders were being targeted.

Targeting the BJP and the state government, Banerjee described the current opposition as the “B-team of the BJP” and accused it of failing to deliver on election promises.

He also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had backed the incident, while claiming that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had “executed” it.

The allegations have added another flashpoint to the ongoing political confrontation in West Bengal. The claims made by Abhishek Banerjee are allegations and would require independent verification.
