Aditi Sharma FIR: Actress Alleges Physical and Mental Harassment by Husband
KT- Aditi Sharma domestic abuse case

Aditi Sharma FIR has been registered in Mumbai after the television actress alleged physical and mental harassment by her husband and members of her in-laws’ family. The complaint was filed at the Goregaon police station, following allegations that the actress faced harassment after her marriage.

According to the complaint, the actress has accused her husband, Abhinit Vidyanand Kaushik, along with her mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik and sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik, of subjecting her to alleged physical and emotional abuse. Mumbai Police have reportedly begun an investigation into the allegations.

The accused persons have not publicly responded to the allegations so far.

Aditi Sharma Files Complaint in Mumbai

The Aditi Sharma FIR was registered on July 31 following the actress's complaint. In her statement to the police, Sharma reportedly alleged that she experienced several forms of harassment during her married life.

The allegations include physical assault, verbal abuse, questioning of her character and disputes over her personal belongings, including jewellery received at the time of her marriage.

As the matter is currently under investigation, the allegations remain claims made in the complaint and have not been established in court.

How Aditi Sharma Met Her Husband

According to the actress's statement, Sharma first met Abhinit during an online acting workshop in June 2021. Their initial acquaintance reportedly developed into a friendship and later into a romantic relationship.

The couple subsequently began living together in a flat in Goregaon West in September 2024, according to the complaint.

The two reportedly married on November 12, 2024, with the consent of their respective families.

Allegations of Harassment After Marriage

Sharma has alleged that her husband's behaviour changed soon after their marriage. According to her complaint, arguments reportedly began over various issues, including her clothing and other everyday matters.

The actress also alleged that her husband frequently took money from her instead of contributing to household expenses.

One incident mentioned in the complaint allegedly took place on January 1, 2025, when an argument reportedly began over drinking coffee. Sharma has claimed that following the incident, her husband began questioning her character and allegedly accused her of having an extramarital relationship.

She also alleged that her mobile phone was regularly checked and that her personal communications were scrutinised.

Actress Raises Allegations Over Jewellery

Another aspect of the complaint concerns Sharma's wedding jewellery.

The actress has alleged that several pieces of jewellery, including a gold chain, rings, a diamond ring, mangalsutra and bangles, were retained by her mother-in-law.

According to Sharma's statement, she allegedly asked for the jewellery to be returned on several occasions but claimed that it was not handed back to her.

These allegations will form part of the police investigation.

Allegations Involving In-Laws

Sharma has also alleged that she was prevented from communicating freely with her parents.
According to her complaint, attempts were made within the family to resolve the disputes, but she alleged that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law consistently supported her husband.

The actress has claimed that the situation resulted in continued mental harassment.

Police have begun examining the allegations and are expected to record statements and verify the claims made in the complaint.

Police Investigation Underway

The Aditi Sharma FIR marks the beginning of a formal investigation into the allegations.

Investigators will examine the complaint, statements and any available evidence before determining the next course of action.

At present, the allegations made by the actress remain unproven. The registration of an FIR does not by itself establish the guilt of the accused.

No response has been reported from the accused husband or his family regarding the allegations.

Aditi Sharma's Television Career

Aditi Sharma is known for her work in Hindi television and has appeared in popular shows including Rab Se Hai Dua and Kaleerein. Her complaint has now brought attention to allegations concerning her personal life.

The investigation will determine the facts surrounding the dispute and establish whether the allegations can be substantiated.

The Mumbai Police investigation is expected to focus on the circumstances surrounding the alleged harassment, the claims regarding jewellery and financial matters, and the other allegations included in the actress's complaint.

The case remains under investigation, and further developments are awaited.
