Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian boxer Priya Ghanghas after her historic gold medal victory in the Women's 60kg boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Sharing his message on social media, the Prime Minister praised the young boxer for her outstanding performance and determination on the biggest stage.
"Priya Ghanghas brings home a glorious Gold in the Women's 60 kg Boxing event! It reflects her remarkable skill and mental strength. Congratulations to her. My best wishes for her upcoming endeavours."

Priya Ghanghas delivered a superb performance in the final, defeating Canada's Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh by split decision to secure the gold medal. Her triumph also helped India register its best-ever Commonwealth Games boxing campaign, with four gold medals at Glasgow 2026.

The reigning Asian champion displayed exceptional tactical awareness, resilience, and composure throughout the tournament, emerging as one of India's standout performers at the Games.
