Air India has announced the appointment of Tewolde Gebremariam as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), marking a major leadership change for the Tata Group-owned airline.

Gebremariam, the former Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, succeeds Campbell Wilson. Widely regarded as one of the aviation industry's most accomplished leaders, he is credited with transforming Ethiopian Airlines into Africa's largest and one of its most profitable carriers during his tenure.

Air India's Board approved the appointment as the airline continues its long-term transformation and global expansion strategy. The leadership transition is expected to strengthen the carrier's operational performance, customer experience, and international competitiveness as it enters the next phase of growth.
