Amit Shah, Union Home Minister of India, described the day as “historic” for West Bengal as Suvendu Adhikari took oath as the first Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.

Sharing his message on social media, Shah congratulated Adhikari and emphasized that the new government reflects the aspirations of the people of West Bengal. He noted that the BJP’s electoral victory marks a significant political shift in the state’s history.

“Today’s day is historic for Bengal, as Shri Suvendu Adhikari ji has taken oath as the first Chief Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party, dedicated to the hopes and aspirations of Bengal’s people and elected by them,” Shah stated.
