Highlighting flood-related concerns in the Ghatal region, Shah stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed a comprehensive master plan worth ₹1,500 crore to tackle recurring floods, with 60% of the funding to be borne by the Central Government. However, he alleged that the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) government rejected the proposal. Shah assured the public that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in West Bengal, the Ghatal Master Plan would be implemented within one year, offering a permanent solution to the flood crisis. He also raised concerns over the continuous accumulation of silt in the Rupnarayan River, which exacerbates flooding in the region. Criticizing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shah alleged that she remains focused on promoting her nephew’s political future rather than addressing key governance issues. Responding to allegations that a BJP-led Bengal would be controlled from Delhi, Shah asserted that the next Chief Minister would be a BJP karyakarta “born and brought up in Bengal,” emphasizing local leadership. The rally marks a significant escalation in campaign rhetoric, with both BJP and TMC sharpening their attacks as the state heads into a crucial electoral contest.
