Asian Games 2026: India Men Win Badminton Bronze

India’s men’s badminton team signed off from the team event with a bronze medal after a hard-fought 3–1 defeat to defending champions China in the semi-final at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium.

Despite missing out on a place in the final, India secured a podium finish in what was a memorable campaign at the 20th Asian Games.

The bronze medal is particularly significant for Indian badminton, marking the country’s first back-to-back Asian Games medals in the men’s team event since 1982 and 1986. India had previously won the silver medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023.

India’s performance against China underlined the team’s growing presence in Asian badminton. The players battled against the defending champions but ultimately fell 3–1 in the semi-final.

The bronze adds another important achievement to India’s campaign at the Asian Games 2026, while continuing the momentum generated by the men’s team’s silver-medal performance three years ago.
