Brazil's New Era: Ancelotti Leads Quest for World Cup Glory
Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker backed coach Carlo Ancelotti to drive then a record-extending sixth World Cup title, ahead of their opener against Morocco on Sqturday.
The veteran goalie praiswe the Italian's composure and knowhow to win bug tournaments as key factors the Selecao would benefit from in the 2026 edition that began on Thursday.
Brazil have endured an inconsistent qualifying campaign amid turbulence over coaching changes and injuries to top names but Alisson said Ancelotti's presence has uplifted moral of the national team since he took charge last year.
"It is undeniable that the last period was very difficult for us players," Alisson told reporters at Brazil's training base in New Jersey on Friday.
"Since Ancelotti's arrival, the environment has been transformed. He carries a strong presence and gives us the tranquillity of an environment focused on work, without controversy."
Before appearing in his third World Cup, the Liverpool custodian praised Ancelotti's leadership ability and capability to absorb pressure.
"He is resilient, humble and has intelligence in choosing the right words at the right time. He is a great manager," Alisson said.
"He has a clear idea of football, which facilitates our style of play. These combinations favour the team."
Ancelotti has won five Uefa Champions League and league title in all of Europe's top five leagues. Brazil have not won the World Cup since 2002.
"He's a multi-champion. He has won everything in football and is here with joy and enthusiasm," Alisson said.
"He's a true winner."
Brazil begin their Group C campaign against Morocco, which is viewed as the toughest match of the group, with Alisson insisting Brazil's focus is on performance rather than reputation.
"We are prepared for the challenge ahead," he said.
"What matters now is what we do on the pitch."
