What a final 15 minutes that was! The game was in the balance for most of the clash, but Jurgen Klopp’s,Liverpool blew their hosts away in the latter stages. Firmino played a starring role in their initial comeback, before Salah came off the bench to break a UEFA Champions League record. Phenomenal stuff and Liverpool now just need a point in Amsterdam to secure their spot in the Round of 16.

Mohamed Salah came off the bench to score the fastest ever Champions League hat-trick as the Reds ran riot in Glasgow. The home side actually took the lead when Scott Arfield finished off a fine team move, but Roberto Firmino levelled and after the break it was all Liverpool. Firmino tucked in Joe Gomez’s cross before teeing up Darwin Núñez for the third. That was Darwin’s final touch as he was replaced by Salah, who duly scored three in a shade over six minutes. Harvey Elliott added a late seventh.

Liverpool forward Firmino is named Player of the Match. The UEFA Technical Observer team said: “He made a crucial contribution with the equaliser and the goal which put Liverpool ahead. He then set up the third and was a threat throughout.”

Salah’s three-goal salvo came in the space of six minutes 12 seconds, beating Bafétimbi Gomis’s eight-minute hat-trick in another 7-1 win back in 2011, for Lyon at Dinamo.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said,””I liked the first half as well, to be honest. We conceded a goal which was well played, but the reaction was good. We played exceptional football at times in the first half”
