Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 3 Highlights: Historic Golds, Records and Stunning Performances

Day 3 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 delivered thrilling performances, historic milestones and record-breaking achievements across gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming and netball.

Scotland celebrated a historic moment as Reuben Ward became the first Scottish gymnast to win the Men's Artistic Gymnastics All-Around gold medal. Ward secured victory over Canada's Felix Dolci with outstanding performances on the Pommel Horse and Vault.

Weightlifting witnessed multiple Commonwealth records. India's Rishikanta Singh Chanambam and Malaysia's Mohamad Aniq Bin Kasdan both lifted a Commonwealth record 121kg in the Men's 60kg snatch. However, the Malaysian lifter claimed gold after completing all six lifts successfully.

India's Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu Saikhom continued her dominance by setting a Commonwealth Games record with an 85kg snatch before adding another Games record with a 105kg clean and jerk to secure the Women's 48kg title.

In netball, defending champions Australia sent a strong message by defeating rivals England 66-47 in Pool A. Sophie Garbin starred with 41 goals from 42 attempts as the Diamonds reaffirmed their title credentials.

Canada's Ellie Black returned to the top of the podium by winning the Women's Artistic Gymnastics All-Around title, earning her eighth Commonwealth Games medal and reclaiming the crown she last won at Gold Coast 2018.

The swimming pool also witnessed spectacular performances as Australia's Lani Pallister dominated the inaugural Women's 1500m Freestyle, setting another Games record while collecting her second gold medal and third individual medal of Glasgow 2026.
