“One thing is for sure – there are going to be a lot of fireworks emotionally from both of us,” Djokovic told the Centre Court crowd, to laughter. “It’s his first Grand Slam final so he’s very excited and doesn’t have much to lose – but he’s always playing like that.
I’ve never won a set off him. But it’s another final for me here at Wimbledon, the tournament I love so much. Hopefully it can work in my favour,”Djokovic added.
“I didn’t start well today. It was very hot. I was a bit tight and not swinging through the ball as I would like. Cameron didn’t have much to lose, playing the tournament of his life at home. I wish him all the best. He’s a great player and I have a lot of respect for him”,Djokovic said.
I’ve had many Grand Slam semi-finals but it is never easy walking out on court,” said Djokovic.
“You have a lot of pressure and expectations, from yourself and others.
I was a bit tighter at the beginning of the match. Cameron was dominating the play and I felt like I got lucky in the second set to break his serve.
He kind of gifted me a game and since then the momentum shifted a bit. That’s the significance of the semi-finals of a Grand Slam”,Novak Djokovic said.
