TELEGANA – CAMPAIGNING ENDS IN TELEGANA TODAY FOR STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION : All political campaigning for the Telangana Assembly election will end on Tuesday (28 November) at 5 PM bringing the curtain down on hectic campaigning by the 3 leading political parties in the state. Chief electoral officer Vikas Raj said,” Necessary arrangements for the Telangana Assembly polls 2023 are complete for the voting day that is scheduled for 30 November 2023.”

Section 144 will be imposed in the state 48 hours before 30th November wherein any gathering of four or more people would be prohibited by law in the state.

2,290 candidates are contesting for the upcoming elections. This includes heavyweights like BRS supremo and Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, his son and minister, KT Rama Rao and BJP Lok Sabha members, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, D Arvind, and Soyam Bapurao.

The incumbent Chief Minister of the state is contesting from two segments, Gajwel and Kamareddy. In Gajwel, BJP has fielded its MLA, Etala Rajender.

Telangana is set for a three-cornered contest between the ruling BRS, which is aiming to return to power for a third straight term, the Congress, and BJP. More than 2.5 lakh staff will be employed for poll duties, the Chief Electoral officer said. The State Assembly Elections will also see the deployment of 3,000 personnel from other uniformed services in Telangana, 50 companies of Telangana State Special Police, and 375 companies of Central forces who will be manning the security arrangement.
