England beat India by 227 runs in Chennai test to lead the series 1-0. India were all out on 192 in their second innings. India were given a target of 420 runs. Though all except Virat Kohli (72)) and Subhman Gill (50) failed.
This lead to a batting order failure for India. Jack leach of England took 4 wickets while James Anderson showed some magic taking 3 wickets in the second innings. England captain Joe Root was declared the man of the match for his brilliant double century.
