England Script Historic 4-0 T20I Series Victory
England produced a ruthless display of power-hitting to defeat India by 56 runs in the fifth and final T20I at the Utilita Bowl, completing a commanding 4-0 series victory after the opening match was washed out.
After opting to bowl first, India endured a nightmare as Jos Buttler unleashed one of the finest T20I innings of his career. The former England captain smashed 131 off just 64 balls, reaching his century in only 51 deliveries with 12 fours and eight sixes. Captain Harry Brook provided the perfect support, remaining unbeaten on 95 from 45 balls.

The pair stitched together a record 233-run partnership for the second wicket, helping England post a mammoth 257/3—the highest T20I total ever scored against India. India's attack struggled throughout, with Prince Yadav and Axar Patel conceding heavily, while Shivam Dube claimed 2/22 late in the innings.
Chasing 258, India lost Abhishek Sharma early before Sanju Samson's brisk 27 offered a brief spark. Ishan Kishan fought back with a determined 56 off 35 balls, while Tilak Varma hammered a 24-ball 53 to keep India's hopes alive. However, once both left-handers departed, the chase quickly faded.
Sam Curran starred with the ball for England, claiming 3/36, while Adil Rashid controlled the middle overs with figures of 2/24. India eventually finished on 201/8, falling well short of the target.
The emphatic victory secured England's 4-0 series triumph and saw India relinquish the No.1 spot in the ICC Men's T20I rankings. Shreyas Iyer's young Indian side will now look to regroup ahead of the three-match ODI series against England, beginning on July 14 at Edgbaston.
