Luis Diaz the new No. 23 was introduced just before the hour mark to mass applause, with his Liverpool career getting swiftly underway a week on from the announcement of his signing.
A debut, a comeback and a 3-1 win 🤩

Liverpool looked like a team who had spent most of the past fortnight on holiday… and with an unusually early kick off!
It was an Emirates FACup fourth round to remember for Liverpool as they progressed to the fifth round for the first time since their 2019/20 campaign.
New signing Diaz and Elliott, back in the squad for the first time since September, came off the bench together shortly after Diogo Jota had headed in the opener early in the second half of Sunday’s tie at Anfield.
And they both made their mark on the match, with Diaz teeing up Takumi Minamino to double Liverpool’s lead and Elliott then firing in his first goal for the club.
Rubin Colwill later grabbed a consolation for Cardiff.

Thiago Alcantara also returned as a substitute on a satisfying afternoon for Jürgen Klopp’s side, who will host Norwich City in round five.
After the match Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott “This is what I’m in the team to do – to score and assist. Thankfully it’s come today in front of the crowd after having a long time out. At the end of the day, it’s my job, so I’ve just got to keep doing it. It’s a moment that myself and my family will remember.”
Liverpool’s coach Jogen Klopp said ,”We had exactly the same squad before, as well. Luis came in and Nat and Neco left, Harvey came back as well, so when they are all fit we have a really good squad, but we’ve never said anything different. A really good squad and then we have to use that, of course, but it never happened really that they were all fit, it’s now the first time maybe. Let’s hope tonight nothing happens in the game in Africa and stuff like this and the two boys come back [fit] as well. We were never in doubt about the quality of our squad, that’s it.”
