Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu witnesses FLY91 signing order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu witnessed the signing of a landmark order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft by FLY91, marking the largest ATR aircraft order globally by a regional airline.

Civil Aviation Ministry Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha and other senior officials were also present during the signing ceremony.

The major aircraft order underscores the growing momentum in India’s regional aviation sector, with airlines expanding their fleets and capacity to connect Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well as underserved regions.

The expansion comes as the Government advances the next phase of the UDAN regional connectivity programme, backed by a government investment of ₹28,840 crore.

The initiative aims to strengthen regional air connectivity and bring more cities and communities into India’s expanding national aviation network.

The FLY91 order is expected to further support the development of regional aviation by enabling greater connectivity between emerging urban centres and established aviation hubs.
