IAF Chief AP Singh Praises Netflix's Operation Safed Sagar for Realistic Kargil War Portrayal

Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh praised Netflix's upcoming military drama Operation Safed Sagar: The Untold Story Of The Kargil War, calling its portrayal of events leading up to the Kargil War remarkably realistic during the series' grand premiere at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Addressing the audience, AP Singh thanked Netflix for bringing the story of the Kargil War to the screen and said the very first episode reflects what viewers can expect from the rest of the series.

"I would like to first thank Netflix for such a wonderful series that they have conceived and put together. My personal take is that what you saw is very close to reality. While there is some cinematic dramatization, the portrayal of the pre-war days is quite realistic and took us back to our days in the squadron," he said.

Recalling the significance of the 1999 conflict, the Air Chief described the Kargil War as a defining moment not only for the Indian Air Force but also for air forces around the world, highlighting how the conflict reshaped aerial warfare and operational planning.

He added that presenting the story through a web series would help it reach a much wider audience and deepen public understanding of the sacrifices made by India's armed forces.

Expressing confidence in the global impact of the production, AP Singh said audiences across India and the Indian diaspora worldwide would feel immense pride in the courage, professionalism and achievements of the Indian Air Force and the country's defence forces after watching the series.

Operation Safed Sagar: The Untold Story Of The Kargil War is one of Netflix India's most ambitious military dramas and pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served during the 1999 Kargil conflict.
