India, Brazil Sign MoU to Strengthen Digital Cooperation
India and Brazil have taken a significant step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation in the digital and telecommunications sectors with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia announced the development on social media after signing the agreement with Frederico de Siqueira Filho, Brazil’s Minister of Communications. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting in Pune.
The agreement seeks to deepen collaboration between the two countries across several key areas, including universal connectivity, cybersecurity, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), emerging technologies and capacity building.
India and Brazil will also promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the digital and telecom sectors. The cooperation is aimed at supporting a more secure, inclusive and technology-driven digital ecosystem in both countries.
Scindia described the agreement as a strong step forward in strengthening India-Brazil collaboration and advancing a secure and inclusive digital future.
The MoU also highlights the growing importance of India-Brazil cooperation within the broader BRICS framework, particularly in areas involving digital transformation, technological innovation and inclusive connectivity.
