Earthquake in Japan: Indian Embassy Sets Up Emergency Control Room

Japan has been rocked by a massive earthquake today in Ishikawa prefecture.
Photographs and videos have emerged on social media showing houses and other
buildings collapsing. Advisories and tsunami alerts have been issues with the
government to order evacuation in areas under threat and be on the alert for
aftershocks that are likely to occur.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued
tsunami warnings for Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama, all of which are Japan’s
