Jaishankar at Quad Meet: Indo-Pacific Must Remain Driver of Global Growth and Stability

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr .S. Jaishankar delivered strong remarks during the opening session of the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, emphasizing the need for stronger cooperation to address emerging challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

Addressing fellow Quad members, Jaishankar highlighted that the ministers were meeting for the third time in less than 18 months, underlining the growing significance and momentum of the grouping in shaping regional and global strategic priorities.

He stressed that discussions would focus heavily on the Indo-Pacific, identifying major global concerns including supply chain resilience, connectivity choke points, concentration of manufacturing resources, and critical infrastructure gaps.

Jaishankar also outlined the specific challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region, emphasizing the importance of strengthening strategic confidence, ensuring maritime security, expanding economic choices, and building deeper collaboration among trusted partners.

He underlined that transparent and reliable partnerships are essential for ensuring a stable regional order and reiterated that the Indo-Pacific must continue to serve as a key engine for global growth and stability.

The Quad framework — comprising India, the United States, Japan, and Australia — continues to strengthen its strategic coordination across security, economic cooperation, technology, and regional development initiatives.
