Jaishankar Chairs India’s Heads of Mission Conference in Africa
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar chaired a conference of India’s Heads of Mission in Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, highlighting the strong partnership between India and African nations.
Chaired today in Addis Ababa a conference of our Heads of Mission in Africa. India and Africa share deep linkages built upon Global South solidarity, strategic autonomy, multipolarity and common development aspirations. We held in depth discussions on taking forward our partnership across trade, investments, connectivity, development partnership, and capacity building.

Speaking at the conference, Jaishankar emphasised that India and Africa share deep-rooted linkages built on the principles of Global South solidarity, strategic autonomy, multipolarity and common development aspirations.
He underlined the importance of strengthening India-Africa cooperation amid evolving global dynamics, with both sides sharing a commitment to inclusive growth, development and a more balanced international order.
The conference provided an opportunity to discuss India’s diplomatic engagement across Africa and explore ways to deepen bilateral partnerships and advance shared priorities.
