Jaishankar Highlights Key Outcomes of QUAD Foreign Ministers Meeting
India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar shared key outcomes from the latest QUAD Foreign Ministers Meeting (FMM), highlighting major initiatives aimed at strengthening security, infrastructure, and economic resilience across the Indo-Pacific region.

Following discussions with Marco Rubio, Penny Wong and Toshimitsu Motegi, Jaishankar described the meeting as "productive" and outlined three significant takeaways.
The QUAD partners agreed on an Indo-Pacific Maritime Surveillance Initiative and a Common Operating Picture in the maritime domain, aimed at improving regional maritime awareness and coordination. Leaders also discussed the formation of an expert panel on port infrastructure, collaboration on a pilot port project in Fiji, and efforts to strengthen undersea cable connectivity.
Another major development was the finalisation of the QUAD Critical Minerals Framework, alongside the signing of the India-US Critical Minerals Framework. The initiative seeks to strengthen supply chains and promote cooperation with like-minded countries in critical mineral sectors.
The ministers also announced a new QUAD Indo-Pacific Energy Security Initiative, focusing on technology, management, policy cooperation, international market analysis, and emergency response exercises.
The developments signal the QUAD's growing focus on regional security, resilient infrastructure, and strategic economic cooperation amid evolving geopolitical challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
