Janhvi Kapoor concert remark on Koffee With Karan draws viewer criticism

Janhvi Kapoor drew criticism from some viewers after giving concert-related dating advice to Veer Pahariya on Wednesday’s episode of Koffee With Karan. The actor appeared on the programme with her Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari co-star Varun Dhawan.

During the rapid-fire segment, host Karan Johar asked what advice she would offer Veer, whose brother Shikhar Pahariya is her partner. Kapoor replied, “Never take her to a concert.”

She did not elaborate on the remark. Some viewers interpreted it as a reference to Veer’s former girlfriend Tara Sutaria and her appearance at an AP Dhillon concert, but that interpretation does not establish Kapoor’s intended target.

Concert speculation returns to discussion

Some social media users criticised the comment as a joke made at another woman’s expense. Others treated it as a playful response, according to reports describing reactions to the episode.

The discussion revived attention to Tara’s appearance on stage with Dhillon in Mumbai in December 2025. Footage showed the singer hugging her and kissing her cheek during the performance.

Separate footage prompted speculation about Veer’s reaction. He later said the clip being used to suggest discomfort had come from a different moment at the concert, while Tara rejected what she described as misleading narratives and paid publicity campaigns.

Tara and Veer reportedly began dating in early 2025 and publicly acknowledged the relationship on Instagram that July. Reports said they parted ways roughly six months later, but neither has publicly confirmed the precise reason.

Janhvi Kapoor was most recently seen in the Telugu film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and starring Ram Charan. Her forthcoming projects include Raj Mehta’s Lag Jaa Gale with Tiger Shroff and Lakshya, which is expected in summer 2027.

She is also reportedly involved in Atlee’s science-fiction action project Raaka, featuring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. The film is in production, according to reports.
