JP Nadda Assures Protesters on Key Demands

Union Minister JP Nadda on Saturday said the government held an extensive discussion with a delegation representing the ongoing agitation and considered several of their key demands.

Speaking after the meeting, Nadda said the delegation submitted a written draft outlining four points related to the ongoing cases arising from the protest. He added that discussions also covered two additional demands, including ensuring that no retaliatory action is taken against those involved and providing compensation to affected individuals.

Nadda stated that the government would provide copies of the FIRs to the delegation and assured that no retaliatory measures would be taken. On the issue of compensation, he said the government sympathises with those affected and that financial assistance would be provided in accordance with existing rules and regulations, with the maximum permissible relief being extended.

The Union Minister further said the delegation's five-point charter would also be taken into consideration as part of the government's ongoing engagement with the protesters. He described the meeting as constructive and said the government remains committed to addressing the concerns raised through dialogue.
