JP Nadda Launches Nationwide Celebrations Marking 10 Years of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda launched the nationwide celebrations commemorating ten years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in India's efforts to improve maternal healthcare.

Addressing the event, the Union Minister emphasized that over the past decade, the Government of India has continuously strengthened healthcare facilities and services for women during pregnancy through the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan.

Launched to ensure quality antenatal care for pregnant women across the country, PMSMA has played a crucial role in promoting safe motherhood and reducing maternal and neonatal health risks. The initiative provides free and comprehensive antenatal check-ups, early identification of high-risk pregnancies, and timely medical interventions.

Highlighting the achievements of the programme, Nadda stated that the government's sustained focus on maternal health has significantly enhanced access to quality healthcare services, particularly for women in underserved and remote regions.

The nationwide celebrations will showcase the impact of PMSMA over the last ten years while reaffirming the government's commitment to ensuring safe pregnancies, healthy mothers, and better healthcare outcomes for every woman across India.

The programme remains a key pillar of India's maternal and child healthcare strategy and aligns with the broader vision of achieving universal health coverage and improved public health indicators.
