Xavi’s FC Barcelona’s great run at the RCDE Stadium continues after their 2-2 draw on Sunday against Espanyol. The blaugranes are unbeaten in 14 matches away at their city rivals in La Liga with 12 of those games having been played at Espanyol’s current home. FC Barcelona have taken seven wins and seven draws in that time and have never lost at the RCDE stadium since its opening in 2009.
In total, home and away, Barça have now gone 24 games in the league against Espanyol without losing, 18 wins and six draws in that time. Barça have not lost in La Liga to their city rivals since a 2-1 defeat at Camp Nou in February 2009.
Espanyol’s wait for their first win this calendar year goes on after Barcelona scored a 96th-minute equaliser through Luuk de Jong to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw at the RCDE Stadium on Sunday night.

The game got off to a terrible start for Espanyol as Pedri gave Barcelona the lead after just two minutes, but Sergi Darder equalised with an excellent goal in the 40th minute before Raul de Tomas scored what appeared to be the winning goal in the 64th minute. However, Luuk de Jong then popped up and scored a header with almost the last kick of the game to break the hearts of Espanyol’s supporters.
