Indian tennis legend Leander Paes expressed his gratitude after being officially inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. Sharing his thoughts on social media, Paes said he is “deeply honoured and grateful” for the trust placed in him and vowed to live up to it with dedication and sincerity.
Paes added, “Till today I wore the Tiranga on my chest. Now I carry it on my shoulders too and will work towards empowering our youth and strengthening sports across the nation.”
The tennis great highlighted his commitment to promoting youth development and enhancing India’s sporting ecosystem, signaling a new chapter in his career where sports and public service intersect.
