Mamata Banerjee INDIA bloc protest remarks in Delhi focused on what the former West Bengal Chief Minister described as a demand for justice as Opposition leaders marched in the national capital on Sunday.
Banerjee joined other INDIA bloc leaders in the protest, which was organised amid continuing opposition to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

‘We Are Demanding Justice, Nothing Else’
Speaking during the march, Banerjee said:
“We are demanding justice, nothing else. This is for people, for humankind, for justice... We want justice and nothing else.”
Her remarks underlined the Opposition’s attempt to frame the protest as a wider campaign concerning electoral fairness and democratic institutions.
INDIA Bloc Marches Towards Supreme Court
The INDIA bloc protest was organised as a march towards the Supreme Court, with senior Opposition leaders participating.
The Opposition has been pressing for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and raising objections to the Special Intensive Revision process, alleging that large-scale voter-list changes could unfairly affect eligible voters. The Election Commission and BJP have denied allegations of politically motivated manipulation.
Heavy Security Across Central Delhi
Security was tightened across parts of central Delhi ahead of the march.
Six Metro stations were closed for several hours, while police and paramilitary personnel were deployed along key routes around Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road and the Supreme Court area.
Opposition Keeps Pressure on Election Commission
The protest follows several days of demonstrations over electoral-roll revisions and the functioning of the Election Commission.
Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition leaders have accused the poll body of undermining electoral fairness, while the Election Commission has maintained that the voter-list revision is meant to remove duplicate and ineligible entries.
Mamata Banerjee Emphasises Justice
The Mamata Banerjee INDIA bloc protest statement kept her message brief and focused.
Rather than detailing specific demands in her remarks, Banerjee repeatedly stressed that the protest was about “justice” and said it was being carried out for people and “humankind”.
Her participation added further political weight to the INDIA bloc’s continuing campaign in Delhi over electoral issues.
