Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a warm introductory phone call with Hungarian Prime Minister-elect Péter Magyar, marking an early diplomatic engagement between the two leaders.
During the conversation, Magyar expressed his intent to continue maintaining the close and strategic relationship between Hungary and Israel. He also extended an invitation to Netanyahu to attend a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising.
Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed the remarks and accepted the invitation, while also inviting Prime Minister-elect Magyar for a future government-to-government (G2G) meeting in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu further expressed confidence that the strong bilateral ties developed with outgoing Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán would continue under the incoming leadership.
Both leaders agreed that their respective foreign ministers would meet soon to further strengthen and continue cooperation between the two nations.
