Tourists gathers at Taki,a tourist spot adjacent to Ichamati River in Basirhat near Indo-Bangla border to enjoy the New Year day. The people were also eagerly waiting to watch the first sunrise on the river-bed in New Year.
Many people are also busy enjoying picnics on the bank of Ichamati River. The tourists are also found enjoying ferry service in the river. Thousands of people gathered on the bank of Ichamati River to celebrate the 1st January on the eve of New Year after the long-term lockdown period. The jawans from border security forces(BSF) and the cops from Basirhat district police are patrolling in the entire area and in river to keep tabs with stringent surveillance to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
