Nitin Nabin donates three months’ salary to the Bihar CM Relief Fund as the state continues relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. BJP national president and Rajya Sabha MP Nitin Nabin announced that he would contribute ₹6.35 lakh, equivalent to three months of his salary as a Rajya Sabha member, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood relief in Bihar.
The announcement came on Friday, September 18, amid ongoing flood-related relief operations across parts of Bihar. Nabin said his contribution was intended to support assistance and rehabilitation efforts for families affected by the floods.
Nitin Nabin Donates Salary to Bihar Relief Fund
Nitin Nabin said that, as a Rajya Sabha MP, he was contributing his three months’ salary to the Bihar Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The amount, according to reports quoting his statement, is ₹6,35,000.
The BJP national president also said that the situation in flood-affected areas was being monitored continuously and that efforts were underway to ensure timely relief and essential assistance reached affected families.
His announcement comes as government agencies and disaster-response teams continue relief and rescue operations in flood-hit parts of the state.
Flood Relief Operations Underway in Bihar
According to the statement attributed to Nitin Nabin, the Bihar government has provided financial assistance of ₹7,000 per affected family, with total assistance reported at more than ₹550 crore. Relief camps, community kitchens and medical facilities have also been arranged in affected areas.
Arrangements for animal fodder have also been made in areas affected by the floods. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been deployed as part of the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
The assessment of crop damage is also underway so that further assistance can be provided to farmers based on the losses identified.
Support for Flood-Affected Families
The contribution announced by Nitin Nabin is being made against the backdrop of continuing relief measures in Bihar. The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is intended to support assistance during situations requiring government-backed relief.
Nabin said that the government was working to provide necessary support to families affected by the floods and that relief activities were being carried out in affected areas.
