Nitin Nabin said that, as a Rajya Sabha MP, he was contributing his three months’ salary to the Bihar Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The amount, according to reports quoting his statement, is ₹6,35,000.

The BJP national president also said that the situation in flood-affected areas was being monitored continuously and that efforts were underway to ensure timely relief and essential assistance reached affected families.

His announcement comes as government agencies and disaster-response teams continue relief and rescue operations in flood-hit parts of the state.

Flood Relief Operations Underway in Bihar

According to the statement attributed to Nitin Nabin, the Bihar government has provided financial assistance of ₹7,000 per affected family, with total assistance reported at more than ₹550 crore. Relief camps, community kitchens and medical facilities have also been arranged in affected areas.

Arrangements for animal fodder have also been made in areas affected by the floods. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been deployed as part of the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
The assessment of crop damage is also underway so that further assistance can be provided to farmers based on the losses identified.
