It is the 14th time he has reached the second week here – although if his figures regarding this are combined with those of Kecmanovic, they’ve reached the second week here 14 times.
“I know Miomir quite well and I’m really glad he’s doing well,” Djokovic said afterwards.
“Hopefully I will get to play him many more times on the centre courts at the biggest tournaments.
“I’m very grateful to have played for quite a few years, competing at the highest level. The Grand Slams are the tournaments that matter most in our sport.
“I’m very proud of my consistency at this level. This week I’ve been playing better as the tournament progresses, which is what you always wish for as a player.
“But I can always do better and I always expect the best from myself.”
