Piyush Goyal Highlights India as Global Trade Anchor

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal addressed Deutsche Bank’s event, “India as a Strategic Trade Anchor,” and participated in a fireside chat, highlighting India’s growing role as a trusted partner in global trade and investment.

Goyal highlighted India’s favourable business environment, skilled talent pool, expanding domestic demand and sustained economic growth as key factors strengthening the country’s position in the global economy. He also underlined the significance of the nine Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) concluded under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, along with ongoing efforts to ease doing business and reduce compliance burdens.

The Union Minister said these measures are creating greater opportunities for global businesses to invest in India, collaborate with Indian companies and pursue mutually beneficial growth. The engagement with Deutsche Bank comes amid India’s continued efforts to strengthen trade partnerships and attract global investment.
