Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the passage of the anti-paper leak legislation in Parliament, describing it as a landmark step towards building a transparent and trustworthy examination system across India.

Sharing a video on his Instagram account, the Prime Minister said governments at both the Centre and in the states have struggled with the issue of examination paper leaks for decades, putting the future of millions of students at risk.

He emphasized that comprehensive reforms in the education and examination system had become essential to restore public confidence and ensure fairness in competitive examinations.

"Friends, we are continuously taking one step after another to build a trustworthy examination system. For the past several decades, every state government and the Central Government have faced the problem of paper leaks. This has put the future of students at risk," PM Modi said.

He further noted that Parliament has now passed legislation with stringent legal provisions aimed at preventing paper leaks and strengthening the integrity of the examination process.

The Prime Minister said the new law reflects the government's commitment to safeguarding students' interests and ensuring merit-based recruitment and admissions through a secure and credible examination system.
