PM Modi Congratulates Selva Prabhu on CWG 2026 Bronze

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian athlete Selva Prabhu Thirumaran for winning the bronze medal in the men's triple jump at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.

In a post on social media, the Prime Minister praised the young athlete's outstanding performance and his personal-best effort on the international stage.

"Proud of Selva Prabhu Thirumaran, who registered a personal best jump and won a Bronze at the Commonwealth Games. Congrats to him. May he excel in his forthcoming endeavours," PM Modi wrote.

The 21-year-old Selva Prabhu secured the bronze medal with a personal-best jump of 16.52 metres, marking his first major senior international medal. His achievement came alongside compatriot Praveen Chithravel, who won the silver medal with a jump of 16.58 metres, giving India a memorable double podium in the men's triple jump.

Selva Prabhu's breakthrough performance further strengthens India's growing reputation in field events and adds another memorable chapter to the country's successful campaign at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
