PM Modi Inaugurates Major Stretch of Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, Highlights India’s Infrastructure Push
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted India's rapid infrastructure transformation while inaugurating a major stretch of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat.
Addressing a gathering in Surat, the Prime Minister said that projects such as the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, the Dedicated Freight Corridor, and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project reflect the nation's commitment to world-class infrastructure and economic growth.
"Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, Dedicated Freight Corridor and bullet train-like projects show the priority of India. Today, a large part of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway has been inaugurated. This will give better connectivity to the two major industrial and trade centres of the country," PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that enhanced connectivity between Vadodara and Mumbai will reduce travel time, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen trade and industrial activities across western India. He noted that modern transport infrastructure is playing a crucial role in boosting economic development, attracting investments, and generating employment opportunities.
The Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway forms an important segment of India's expanding expressway network and is expected to facilitate faster movement of goods and passengers. Combined with the Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, the initiative is aimed at creating a seamless transportation ecosystem that supports India's long-term growth ambitions.
The inauguration marks another milestone in the government's efforts to modernize infrastructure and enhance connectivity between major economic centres across the country.
