PM Modi Outlines Future-Ready India-Uzbekistan Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a broad vision for strengthening India-Uzbekistan cooperation, with a focus on infrastructure, emerging technologies, agriculture, healthcare, traditional medicine, and stronger connections between cities and states.
Speaking during his visit to Uzbekistan, PM Modi said India and Uzbekistan will work together to enhance “win-win cooperation in infrastructure development.” He highlighted collaboration in digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, clean energy, space and nuclear energy, describing these areas as key to making the bilateral relationship future-ready.
Focus on Agriculture and Food Security

The Prime Minister also highlighted the potential for cooperation in traditional medicine. According to PM Modi, Uzbekistan’s medicinal herbs and India’s expertise in Ayurveda offer a natural basis for deeper collaboration. Agreements signed on traditional medicine are expected to further strengthen joint efforts in this sector.
Building Stronger City and State Partnerships
PM Modi emphasised that the India-Uzbekistan partnership should extend beyond national capitals. He said the two countries are establishing partnerships between cities and states to create continuous and direct connections.
These partnerships will promote cooperation in areas including urban management, industry, education, tourism and culture, helping expand people-to-people and institutional ties between India and Uzbekistan.
The initiatives reflect an effort to broaden India-Uzbekistan relations across strategic, economic, technological and social sectors while creating new opportunities for long-term cooperation.
