PM Modi and Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev Plant Tree for a Greener Future
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev jointly planted a tree in the garden of the Presidential Palace, highlighting the shared commitment of India and Uzbekistan towards a greener and more sustainable future.
The tree-planting ceremony was held under India’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative and Uzbekistan’s ‘Yashil Makon’ green initiative.
The symbolic gesture brought together the environmental efforts of the two countries and underscored their shared focus on protecting nature and promoting sustainable development.
The joint planting of the tree also reflected the growing cooperation between India and Uzbekistan beyond traditional areas of bilateral engagement, with both nations emphasising the importance of environmental sustainability for future generations.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative encourages people to plant trees as a tribute to their mothers, while Uzbekistan’s ‘Yashil Makon’ initiative focuses on expanding green spaces and strengthening the country’s environmental efforts.
The initiative by the two leaders served as a powerful symbol of friendship, sustainability and their shared vision of a greener planet.
