PM Modi Plants Coco de Mer Palm in Seychelles
Prime Minister Narendra Modi planted a sapling of the rare Coco de Mer palm at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden alongside Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie, reaffirming the shared commitment of India and Seychelles to environmental conservation and sustainability.

The symbolic tree plantation was carried out under India's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, highlighting the two nations' common vision for protecting nature and promoting sustainable development.
The Coco de Mer, native to Seychelles, is one of the world's rarest and most iconic palm species, making the plantation a significant gesture of friendship and environmental stewardship.

Following the tree plantation, Prime Minister Modi and President Herminie visited the Giant Tortoise Enclosure at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden, showcasing the island nation's unique biodiversity and strengthening cultural and environmental ties between the two countries.
