Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the five states assembly election results have put a stamp of approval on BJP’s pro-poor and pro-active governance.
Addressing party karyakartas at party headquarters in New Delhi this evening after emerging victorious in four states, Mr Modi said, despite being in Government in three states Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Manipur, the vote share of BJP has increased. He said, in Goa BJP has emerged as the single largest party.
Mr Modi said, even after being in power for ten years, the number of BJP seats in the state has increased. He said, BJP has created history in Uttarakhand too.
The Prime Minister said, Uttar Pradesh has given many Prime Ministers to the country, but this is the first instance that a Chief Minister who has completed a five-year term has been re-elected. He said, after 37 years no Government had returned to power in Uttar Pradesh for the second time in a row.
Mr Modi said, over the years, Government has not only improved the governance delivery system, but also brought transparency in the entire process. He said, BJP assures the poor that government facilities will definitely reach every poor.
The Prime Minister said, the way our mothers and sisters, the youth has given full support to the Bharatiya Janata Party and it is a big message in itself. Mr Modi said, he is also satisfied that first time voters took part in voting with great enthusiasm and ensured BJP’s victory. He said, today is a day of zest and festivities.
Mr Modi congratulated all the voters who took part in these elections, the festival of democracy. He thanked the voters for their decision and ensuring victory for BJP.
In his address, BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda said, people once again reposed their faith and put their stamp of approval on Prime Minister’s welfare programmes and policies.
He said, this is for the first time in 37 years that a party is forming the Government in Uttar Pradesh after serving its term. He said, in Manipur, BJP is set to form a Government with a clear majority and in Goa, BJP will form the Government for the third time running.
Mr Nadda said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the culture of politics in India and now elections are fought on the basis of report card.
On the occasion, Mr Nadda along with Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari facilitated Mr Modi for the victory in the assembly polls.
