President Murmu Highlights India-Laos Civilisational Ties During Meeting with Lao Deputy PM Thongsavan Phomvihane
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Lao PDR, Thongsavan Phomvihane, paid a courtesy call on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

During the meeting, President Murmu underscored the deep-rooted civilisational ties between India and Laos, noting that the two nations are connected through their shared Buddhist heritage and the enduring cultural legacy of the Ramayana.
She also emphasized that the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and the Lao PDR marks a significant milestone, reflecting the strength and enduring nature of bilateral ties between the two countries.
