What Mamata Did to Congress Is Happening to Her Today’: Adhir Ranjan

Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging that the party is facing an internal crisis and claiming that several rebel MLAs are attempting to align themselves with the BJP.

Reacting to reports surrounding 60 rebel TMC legislators, Chowdhury said the political developments in West Bengal resemble the "Eknath Shinde model" seen in Maharashtra.

“We all are aware of the internal condition of the TMC. They wanted to join the BJP but have been rejected as the BJP wants to protect its image. With corruption allegations hanging over them, these MLAs have no other option but to surrender to the BJP,” he said.

Drawing a parallel with Mamata Banerjee’s departure from the Congress in the past, Chowdhury said the TMC supremo is now facing a similar political challenge.
“Just as Mamata Banerjee once defected from the Congress and pushed it to the brink of collapse, she is now facing a similar fate today,” he remarked.

The Congress veteran further alleged that an “Eknath Shinde model” is being implemented in West Bengal and extended an open invitation to grassroots workers from various political parties, particularly the TMC, to join the Congress.

“I invite all the ordinary workers of all parties, especially of TMC, who want to do something, to come and join Congress. We are ready to welcome you,” Chowdhury said.

He also claimed that several elected TMC representatives have indirectly aligned themselves with the BJP, calling it beneficial that “all the corrupt elected TMC representatives have indirectly joined the BJP.”

The remarks come amid heightened political uncertainty in West Bengal following internal divisions within the ruling TMC and ongoing speculation over the future course of rebel legislators.
