Priyanka Gandhi Calls for Justice for Students
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra strongly defended students protesting over education-related issues, saying their demands are legitimate and deserve attention rather than suppression.
Addressing the media, Priyanka Gandhi questioned whether the focus should be on political events or the concerns raised by students. She argued that students are peacefully seeking their rights and called on the media to examine whether their demands are justified.
Criticizing the government's priorities, she claimed that while the education budget stands at ₹1.4 lakh crore, loans worth ₹16 lakh crore have allegedly been waived for large corporate groups such as Adani and Ambani. She also highlighted recurring paper leak incidents, saying they have severely impacted students and require urgent action.
"There is nothing undemocratic about peaceful protest," Priyanka Gandhi said, adding that the treatment of students and the developments in Parliament reflect what she described as an undemocratic approach.
Her remarks come amid continuing political debate over student protests, education policies, and allegations surrounding examination irregularities.
