INDIA Bloc MPs Wear Black in Parliament

Rahul Gandhi Black Day Protest dominated the third day of the Monsoon Session as Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and MPs from the INDIA bloc arrived in Parliament wearing black to observe what they described as a "Black Day." The protest was organised over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the police action against students who had been protesting over the examination controversy.
The Opposition demonstration came a day after protests near the Prime Minister's residence and added to the political confrontation that has repeatedly disrupted proceedings during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
Opposition Observes "Black Day" in Parliament
Rahul Gandhi led the protest alongside several senior leaders of the INDIA bloc, who gathered at Makar Dwar before Parliament proceedings began.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, JMM MP Mahua Maji and several other Opposition MPs wore black attire as a symbolic mark of protest.
The leaders raised slogans demanding justice for students affected by the alleged examination irregularities and called for greater accountability from the Union government.
Demand for Education Minister's Resignation
One of the key demands raised during the protest was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Opposition leaders argued that the alleged NEET examination irregularities had undermined the confidence of students and parents across the country. They maintained that the government must accept responsibility and ensure a transparent investigation into the controversy.
The protest also focused on the treatment of students during demonstrations, with the Opposition alleging excessive police action against protesters.
Priyanka Gandhi and Kharge Criticise the Centre
Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge strongly criticised the Union government during the demonstration.
They accused the Centre of failing to adequately address the concerns of students and called for immediate action to restore confidence in the country's examination system.
The leaders also reiterated the Opposition's demand for a detailed discussion on the issue inside Parliament.
Parliament Continues to Witness Political Deadlock
The "Black Day" protest added to the continuing confrontation between the government and the Opposition during the Monsoon Session.
