PV Sindhu reflected on her World Championships exit with honesty and determination, admitting that she needed to convert key moments into a victory.
Speaking after her defeat to Wang Zhi Yi,

Sindhu said the match featured long rallies and identified the 17-all score as a crucial turning point. She acknowledged that every point mattered and felt she should have shown greater patience during the decisive stages.

Sindhu also addressed questions surrounding Wang Zhi Yi's physical condition, saying she was unsure whether her opponent was carrying an injury or whether it was simply part of her approach to the match.

The defeat was particularly painful for Sindhu after months of training and hard work. However, the Indian badminton star stressed that setbacks are part of sport and can ultimately make an athlete stronger.

She said she would now return, assess her performance and work on the areas that need improvement. Despite the disappointment, Sindhu remained determined to continue competing and learning from her mistakes.

“I tried hard this time, but at the end of the day, only one player can win,” Sindhu said, underlining her resolve to keep pushing forward.
